Meet The Artisans

Albaricoque

Mexico
The brainchild of architect and furniture designer Karina Herrera, Albaricoque was born in Michoacán in June 2020, from a passion for innovative Mexican design and a will to create a brand whose essence lies in offering a piece of hand-woven Mexico in your space.

Pieces are woven by hand with chuspata, a reed growing on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, and harvested by the artisans of Ihuatzio. Once harvested the chuspata is left in the sun to dry, then moistened for a couple of hours to regain their flexibility. It is then ready to be woven by the magical hands of their artisans, who make their designs come to life, giving each piece its own special character.

For Albaricoque it is very important to create pieces that give a unique and incomparable touch to your spaces, and what better way to do it than with products designed and manufactured by Mexican hands. Albaricoque is very proud of their Mexican culture, materials, colors, and traditions, and they place this in every decorative piece that carries the essence and flavor of Mexico.
