Meet The Artisans

Kastadoni

Mexico
Kastadöni was born from the love and passion Natalia Vivanco and Cristina Díaz have for their country, its culture, its artistry, and most importantly its people. As friends and entrepreneurs with the motivation to represent the work of Mexican artisans through decorative handmade textiles, Natalia and Cristine work to empower their team of artisans, giving them the recognition, admiration, and fair trade they deserve. Kastadöni’s goal is to give something back to their country that has given them so much and has made them who they are.

Kastadöni works with their team of artisans in the design and creation of handmade textile products, such as cushions, bedspreads, rugs, and tablecloths that combine Mexican textile traditions with a contemporary look, adding their own personal taste.

Kastadöni is an Otomí word that means "Sunflower." The name was chosen because sunflowers represent light. Light creates life, so with Kastadöni textile designs, they want to bring their culture to life.

Their workshop is in Oaxaca, a rich and colorful state, from where they get most of their design inspiration for their products. They are motivated to keep growing and hopefully expand to more states of Mexico. Natalia and Cristina are moved by the love and support they have gained during the creation of Kastadöni, and they are very proud of what they have given back to their country.
