Launched in the state of Oaxaca in 2016, Lucia Macarenä is a Mexican high-end fashion brand that specializes in clothing and accessories. After working for 8 years as an industrial engineer in the oil & gas business and traveling the world, Lucia decided to launch her own brand to show the world the beautiful craftsmanship, the heritage, and the design wonders of Oaxaca and Mexico at large.
Lucia herself was born and grew up in Oaxaca, one of the states with the most established and ancient tradition of artisanal crafts, such as embroidery, weaving, and jewelry making. She grew up watching craftsmen and women making bright huipiles and tehuana blouses, and always felt like design and fashion truly ran through her blood.
All of her products are handmade using the best materials and most traditional techniques, to create unique pieces that perfectly blend the class and elegance of high-end fashion with the buoyancy of Mexican colors and patterns.
Most importantly, Lucia works closely with artisan communities in the state of Oaxaca and in other regions of Mexico, fully respecting fair trade principles, and making social responsibility and the welfare of the artisans the core of her work.
