Makrana is a Mexican brand dedicated to the design of marble items for interior decoration and home spaces.
Makrana was born in 2017 in Guadalajara, Mexico with the desire to take advantage of the leftover marble slabs used for construction projects, transforming them into items for daily use at home with avant-garde designs and the best quality made by Mexican artisans.
Makrana seeks to elevate Mexican talent and increase local wealth. That is why all materials are sourced locally working hand in hand with Mexican artisans and marble workers. Marble is a natural material, so each product has variations of tones and veins, making each one a unique piece.
The name Makrana comes from the history of the Taj Mahal, a splendid monument built with marble from the quarries of the city of Makrana, India. This marvel of the modern world was a tribute from the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, for the love he had for her.
