The beauty of handmade lies in its imperfections. If it’s perfect it’s machine-made.

 

Every piece is handmade by local artisans and is unique. Some variation in size and design should be expected.

• Weight: 20lbs. 
• For good maintenance of the carpet it is advisable to gently vacuum clean regularly (without brush head). In the case of a stain it is best to try and remove it with a moist towel immediately instead of letting the stain dry.
• Only use detergents which are specially designed for woolen carpets.
• Wool is also self cleaning and if you have the possibility to hang or lay the carpet out in a fresh breeze occasionally, odors will disappear.

Beyond Marrakech began their journey in 2010 when Danielle Donker, born in the Netherlands, moved her life to Morocco. Settling in the Valley of Ourika in the High Atlas Mountain region, she found herself immersed in the Berber culture, spending her time exploring the traditional souks. She soon found interest in textiles and carpets, crafted by Berber women, and founded her company to showcase these female artisans and restore forgotten pieces. From vintage to modern day handcraft, her carpets tell stories of lifetimes.
