The exquisite Bouja Wool Shawl is hand-embroidered and beaded exclusively by hand by expert artisans in Morocco. The pure wool is soft to the touch and enriched by the beautifully embroidered design which is far from being just decorative, tells a story and helps convey the rich cultural landscape of Moroccan rural communities.

Part of Reewaya's Jeblia collection, the design on the shawl is inspired by a local Bedouin figure of a woman who lives in the Riff, the northern mountain of Tétouan in the north of Morocco. Starting from any inspiration - a landscape, an anecdote, a scenario - lead designer Sanaa designs the Jeblia in different contexts, from her native mountains to the skyscrapers of NYC, before expert artisan women embroider, paint or bead the design on the piece of clothing. In this shawl, Jeblia is figured sitting around a fireplace, surrounded by examples of local architecture, making the shawl a beautiful representation of a whole culture.
