The union of wood and embroidery, this Cross-Stitched Embroidered Teak Wood Serving Board is the epitome of Mayan ancient sewing traditions. Made from teak wood and embellished with a rose design in a cross-stitch technique, the boards are made by Chuytikab’s team of all-female Mayan artisans in Yucatan.

Made using a technique that has been passed down from one generation to the next, to purchase a Teak Board with Cross Stitch Embroidery is to purchase a piece of Mayan culture and to protect its future.

Chuytikab, meaning ‘hand embroidery’ in Mayan, is a Mexican collective of women artisans from Yucatán founded in 2010 with the help of the Legorreta Hernández Foundation.

Each piece is 100% handmade with a mindful process that goes from the selection of materials to meticulous design and embroidery. Be it a tablecloth, a cushion or a bag, every one of Chuytikab’s products has a piece of its creator’s soul in it, and will directly impact its maker’s life.
