The Pera Hand-woven Maxi Basket is the perfect place to store clothes, washing loads, or even a decorative houseplant. It is made from hand-woven Chuspata fibers, a natural palm reed that grows on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro.

Harvested by the artisans of Ihuatzio, the Chuspata reed is first put in the sun to be dried, then moistened for a couple of hours to regain its flexibility until it is ready to be woven by the magical hands of Albaricoque’s craftsmen.

  • The material from which our baskets are woven is the chuspata, a reed that grows on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, which is harvested by the artisans of Ihuatzio.
  • Once harvested, the chuspata is placed in the sun to be dried, then moistened for a couple of hours to regain its flexibility.
