These intricately woven placemats are handmade by Mexican women using a traditional Mayan method called “telar de cintura”. This technique involves a unique weaving process done on a loom and is considered a strong part of Mexican craft culture. The patterns are representations of drawings found on the facade of Mayan ruins, fusing ancient symbols with modern design. Offered in four different colors, each set of eight is made from natural cotton that will complement any tablespace.
