This stunning bowl with a sawtooth edged design is a chic ceramic serving bowl from Tamegroute, a desert region of Morocco. Ideal as a centerpiece on a coffee table or kitchen counter to beautifully display fruit. Tamegroute is a village in South Morocco, just before the immense Sahara, known for its distinct green pottery. No two Tamegroute pieces are the same. Many factors impact the final look of each piece, including the placement in and temperature of the oven, the exact composition of the glaze, and the technique of the potter.

Not a single measuring device or thermometer is used in the process. Everything is done using creative intuition based on years of experience and passed-down generational techniques. Due to the special firing process this piece endures, this bowl is not waterproof and best suited as a decorative item only.

really staggering

absolutely strong presence; one feels ‘intention’ in this, however it was produced. doubtless it commands the space where it’s placed. also, probably the most carefully-packaged item i’ve ever received in the mail. much lv, nopo.
